北京2022年冬奥会的火炬在跨越北京、延庆、张家口三个赛区，经过1200余位火炬手传递后，来到了鸟巢，最终火炬交到了迪尼格尔·依拉木江、赵嘉文的两位运动员手中。二人一起将火炬放置在一片巨大的雪花中心燃烧，以此方式完成“点火”仪式。当晚，“微火”惊艳世界，这是百年奥运史上从未有过的。

2008年，中国体操运动员李宁“空中飞人”点燃火炬给世界留下深刻印象。主创团队回顾了2008年的技术资料，发现李宁点燃的火炬，一小时大概消耗5000立方米燃气。

Many people expressed surprise, comparing the scene with the cauldron being lit in 2008 for the Beijing Summer Olympics, which featured a huge flame burning lots of gas every hour.

开幕式总导演称主火炬的点燃环节是当晚他最喜欢的部分。这种点火方式也向世界展示着我国对低碳环保的提倡。

Filmmaker Zhang Yimou, chief director of Friday's ceremony, said lighting the cauldron was his favorite part of the entire evening.

"It's boldand innovative to present such a tiny Olympic flame. It reflects China's promotion of a green and low emission world," he said.

冬奥会主火炬台的大雪花由参赛国家和地区名牌的小雪花构成。

The giant snowflake comprisedhundreds of smaller counterparts featuring the names of some 90 countries and regions participating in the Games. These small snowflakes were also used as placards by those leading the athletes' parade.

Zhang said the big snowflake signaled that "we're building a shared future together" as the world tackles the COVID-19 pandemic. The tiny flame meant the "fire of hope would last forever".

北京冬奥会开幕已近一周。“鸟巢”西侧11.9米高的北京赛区火炬台上，一簇红色火焰在风中跳动。往来的人们总会驻足凝视，用手机定格下这奥运史上前所未有的“微火”。但鲜有人知的是，一支近百人团队在默默守护它，直至赛期结束。

从2月4日晚开始，北京奥林匹克公园管理委员会副主任陆闻宇带领的团队就24小时在岗，守护这簇小小的火焰。

火炬运维指挥部在一间临建小屋里，满打满算十多平方米。桌上的巡查表记录着技术保障人员每天的工作。这张表格密匝匝足有几十个检查项目。在每天两次的巡检中，工程师要钻进火炬台下的机房里，巡检必须静心凝神，哪怕一丁点儿杂音都不能疏忽。

除了人工巡检，指挥部旁边的智能化控制中心也相当重要，能够实时监测燃烧系数、氢气压力、电力线路、“雪花”火炬台和“飘带”的旋转速度等很多数据。控制中心同样有工程师，两班倒24小时值守。

这簇火焰虽小，但遇到极端天气等各种困难，哪怕碰上12级大风，火炬也不会熄灭，这在火炬的设计阶段早已克服了。 如今这样的悉心守护，为的是万无一失。

守护微火，靠的不仅是18人的技术保障团队，还有公安、消防、武警、应急等部门组成的安保组，以及奥林匹克公园公共区人员组成的服务保障组，三个组都要24小时坚守，算下来，总人数将近百人。

虽然忙碌又辛苦，但运维团队非常有成就感。

来来往往的人们，不管是观众、运动员还是工作人员，都喜欢掏出手机与火炬合影。陆闻宇巡视火炬时，常有观赛者请他帮忙拍张照片，哪怕再忙，他都欣然同意，还会顺带讲解一番：“‘雪花’火炬2分半转一圈，‘飘带’8分钟转一圈。所以每张照片的角度都不一样，您这张也是独一无二的。”
